It’s just another busy day in the holler except for today the boys and I had to venture out to town. Without dad. Leaving the house with them adds more stress to a day than one needs. It almost seems like to takes 2 days to recover from it and to catch my breath. Life gets so busy, so chaotic and so downright overwhelming sometimes. It’s nice when things slow down and you can breathe and enjoy little moments. This moment for me was a few days ago but it still swells my heart with joy. This was an ah-ha moment for me… the moment I realized we made it to Kentucky. We are okay. The house sold. It all worked out and most importantly, the little humans God trusted me to care for are happy and enjoying life in the holler.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
For me, this picture paints a picture of these verses. Seeing my child this carefree, this happy and experiencing the moment that was presented as my Heavenly Father would want. I praise Him that his yoke is easy and His burden is light. That He covers me with love, grace, mercy, and peace when I do not deserve it and when I’m running 1000 miles an hour and exhausted myself of life, He is there waiting.
Psalm 23: 2-3 “He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength.”
