What Roots Your Soul?

Let’s really think about this…what does root your soul? Are you rooted? If you are, where are your roots growing? Perhaps you have planted yourself in a place, mindset or an idol that consumes you and keeps you from peace and joy? Or are you just wandering without any roots and still trying to find your place in this world? I’ve been there, I’ve let my actions, thinking, and sin consume me to the point of what felt like no return. Like there was no hope or a way out – just stuck in a bottomless pit. It is a big and confusing world after all but guess what? There is hope. I know there is and we must continue in our faith in Jesus through it all. If we don’t have a solid foundation we will sway with a world that can drown you and sometimes devour your soul.   It’s hard to stay rooted in God when we have the world throwing fleshly things toward us or telling us we must be like this or that. I get it but sin has consequences and there is no joy in having a place for it in your life. I mean you can but you won’t know true peace and joy from Jesus. The kind of peace, joy, and love from our Heavenly Father that feels like a life-altering tidal wave drenching you with His love and mercy and leaving you refreshed and alive. An experience that only He can give. An experience between my Heavenly Father and I that I wouldn’t trade for anything on this side of Heaven. I pray that you have this same feeling.

I’ve recently realized that the importance of being rooted in God and His word. It is only then that we can thrive like when plants get their water and sunshine. People need God to grow like a plant and bare Godly fruit. He must remain in Him by the minute and always in communication with Him because our enemy is crafty. Have you lost hope, lost your good fruit or are you dried up?

Jesus is the water for your ever so desiring soul.

Job 14:7-9

“For there is hope for a tree, When it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And its shoots will not fail. “Though its roots grow old in the ground And its stump dies in the dry soil, At the scent of water it will flourish And put forth sprigs like a plant.

Drink the water and let your roots grow deep with God- it’s what I’m doing and it’s the only way I can have what my soul desires and what fixes the brokenness inside of me.

Colossians 2:7

“Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”
