Waiting Upon The Lord // Part 3

Hey y’all! So I’ve told y’all about the waiting period… ready for some more waiting? I wasn’t either! I promise that it starts to get more exciting.

My husband’s first choice school wanted him to take undergraduate classes and retake his admissions exam… even after being on the waitlist for the last entering class…so we were pretty much at a standstill until we had a scheduled interview at the school in Kentucky! We made the trip to visit and check out the town, school and to interview. This time it felt different. It definitely felt that God was all over this path. It was a small town, lack of crime, no traffic,  better schools for our boys and the absolute opposite of the school in Tennessee and our home at the time. It was peaceful. The details of the plan didn’t matter because God already had everything worked out and the peace was enough to surpass all understanding.  It was exciting and it was God’s plan. To reach this moment was perfectly beautiful and still is at this very moment.

We stopped at our new favorite breakfast eatery and I went into the woman’s restroom and as I entered I saw the most beautiful verse that was meant for me and I knew then that God was preparing me for the days ahead and giving me a sign.

Proverbs 31:25

She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.

I knew without a doubt that God was in this, all around us and had His hand orchestrating every detail. We made it home with a newspaper and for some reason, I bought the paper inside my husband’s parent’s house. Anyway, do you know what was on the front page of that paper? An article about a local church returning from a mission trip to a place in Uganda. The organization they went with is an organization that my in-laws are heavily involved with. We were moved by this and for us, it was a sign.

Several weeks had passed and we had not heard anything. The school said we would know in 2 weeks. I figured it wasn’t going to happen again. I didn’t know why or what God wanted us to do. At this point, we were making plans to stay in our house and completing projects around the house. Well, sure enough, once those projects started rolling… My husband got the call. I couldn’t believe it. I was sad, so sad that my husband said we didn’t have to do it if I didn’t want too. It was time to move on regardless of what I wanted, or thought I wanted. I felt like a child whose favorite toy was being taken away but He had a plan far better than anything I could imagine.

To be continued…

Xoxo,

Hannah B.
