Joy In The Morning

I don’t know about y’all but I am exhausted. I feel like I’m drowning in a sea of negative emotions. Today life has thrown, well, life at me.

I’ll spare you all the details that are causing me to feel this way but sometimes life is just hard. Between working a 50 hour a week job, being a wife, a mom and fighting a 6-year-old to do homework, being a friend and keeping up with the endless housework… no wonder we are exhausted!

Today I just had to let it go out the window. I’m not even sure if we will have clean towels or clothes to wear tomorrow. The dishes are piled up and I can’t even remember what I didn’t get done today or forgot about. It is what it is and I am already exhausted to worry about it now.

Even though today was busy, tough and not going the way I wanted it to – I was reminded that joy comes in the morning. Tomorrow is a new day. God’s grace and mercy are reset for another chance in the morning.  I can decide to accept God’s gift or wallow in my own pitty. I think I did that enough today so I am going to move on and hope for the best. It can be hard because sometimes life gets the best of us but we have to remember to move forward with our best self.

We all experience these feelings for different reasons so no matter what you are going through, I hope you know that joy is waiting for you in the morning. We just have to reach out to Jesus – the only way who can fill us with a soul-satisfying joy.

Xoxo,

Hannah B.
