Season One // Day Eight
Pondering
Disappointments. A word that you have experienced and can vividly remember the aftermath. Often you feel that you have been dealt your fair share of disappointments and wonder when a break is coming. When you place your faith and your expectations in people, you are often left down as your expectations are not met. When you get your hopes up for a job you so desperately need, only to find that you didn’t get offered the position; you feel inadequate. When we lift our hopes up for things of the world, you are bound to find disappointments and experience your dreams plummet to the ground in ruins. As ugly as these emotions make you feel, there is nothing wrong with you my child. You may have had your focus set away from God, but this is the reality: God has something so much better planned for your life. Start trusting God through the disappointments, praise him for what he has protected you from, and what he is preparing for you when it’s time for the harvest. You must face life with the mentality that God already knew about the disappointments you would experience and know that something better is coming.
2 Corinthians 4: 8-9 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;
Isaiah 55:8-9 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
Roman 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Praying
Heavenly Father, I come to you baring all my disappointments and my hurt heart to you. I ask that you repair my mind, heart, and spirit in the only way that you can. I thank you for protecting me from any unknown dangers that I cannot see. I praise you for what you will do in my life as deemed by your perfect will for my life. In the days to come, remind me to place my full focus on you and my complete trust in you LORD.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
